ISO 26000 – Social Responsibility Executive Briefing

The future International Standard ISO 26000, Guidance on social responsibility, will provide harmonized, globally relevant guidance for private and public sector organizations of all types based on international consensus among expert representatives of the main stakeholder groups and so encourage the implementation of best practice in social responsibility worldwide.

Social Responsibility and a Systems Perspective

This presentation is designed to show how the Baldrige framework and similar international management models promote an organization’s ability to be socially responsible through an integrated systems perspective, according to Kay Kendall, Principal, BaldrigeCoach.

Kendall, who recently presented at the WFA Excellence at Work Conference, said elements of social responsibility such as high ethical conduct, protection of the environment’s resources, and good community citizenship will be explored.

Powerful Social Responsibility

People can and will bring more of themselves to work when they’re making the world a better place, according to Daniel Aronson, a business strategist for IBM’s Global Business Services.

Aronson, who spoke at a recent Social Responsibility Executive Roundtable, said employees will make the world better, faster, more profitably when they can prove and improve their efforts.

Aronson also said that consumers and customers care about social responsibility – and believe business should.
